Hello friends!
I’m trying a new way of sharing free previews that I hope you like.
This week’s essay poured out of me at 4am after I awoke from a really powerful dream. For years I’ve fought to define the difference between anxiety and intuition, often just at a total loss for how to know which is which. As time has gone on my relationship with intuition has grown and strengthened, and I’ve been able to look back and see where the rupture between myself and my “knowing” first occurred.
Oh, if I could run a few miles and a decade back, what I would say to the woman I was, crumpled on the bathroom floor, sick with anxiety.
I hope you’ll read this one in full. It’s got to be one of my top favorites of all time. Here’s your excerpt:
EXCERPT
“Her name is Intuition”, I said to him in my dream. That place within myself that was making me panic, that part of myself that was deep within and yet bigger than me. It could see into rooms I wasn’t in. It peeked inside of other people. It had a tongue in the air, tasting energies, its delicate edges tracing between words that hung in the air around me, reading the empty spaces like braille. It spoke to me in sensation, sometimes sickeningly so.
In the dream I left his place and said again to anyone who would listen on my way home: “Her name is Intuition!!!”
Not Anxiety…
Aside from writing essays in the middle of the night, I’ve been coaching students through transitions like relationships ending/shifting, job changes and moves to new cities, healing from heartbreak through/after divorce, and letting go of stale beliefs like “not doing enough” or “self care is selfish”.
Could you use some support for yourself to find deeper connection within, and clarity in what’s next? Your first session with me is $50 off!
Emily Hayes, owner of Yo Soy Candle, shared these kind words recently:
“With Kimberly’s genuine warmth and dedicated passion for meditation and creative writing, she created a safe space for self-discovery. Through her encouragement and inventive writing approaches, Kimberly ignited my curiosity to flow, and I began to hear my voice again. My experience with Kimberly was transformational, and I will be forever grateful for her ongoing support in my healing journey.”
